Tamás Juronics, the internationally acclaimed Hungarian choreographer and Artistic Director of the Szeged Contemporary Dance Company, hits the nail on the head with a ballet-thriller inspired by the schizophrenic atmosphere of Darren Aronofsky's acclaimed film starring Natalie Portman and Vincent Cassel.

Keeping the psychological drama at the core, Tamás juronics transposes his ballet to the second half of the 19th century, to the time of Tchaikowsky, and plunges his excellent dancers into a mysterious universe of intrigue, personality disintegration and technical and artistic daring.

The marvelous music of Swan Lake punctuates the entire show, propelling the dancers of this contemporary company to the height of emotion.

The basic ideology of Swan Lake is “the victory of good over evil and light over darkness”.

The lead role in Szeged Contemporary Dance Company's new ballet-thriller is the schizophrenic Odette - a Swan Queen in her imagination - who attends balls and visits palaces, moving back and forth between her past, present and a future that will never be.

The other side of his split personality is Odile.

Although Rothbart tries to keep her sane by the most desperate means, instead of facing the reality of her physical captivity, Odette escapes to the freedom of her visions and hallucinations: Swan Lake.
